Why did you come to teach at PTCS?
Since my days at university, I have felt drawn to teach at a school that really seeks to meet the needs of a community. I was disillusioned by institutions that seemed to operate more like businesses than schools on a mission to nurture their students. I wanted to work at a school with people that sought to live out their love. During my job search, I stumbled across PTCS - having never heard of it before the day I applied. After speaking with Principal Ho and getting a good idea of what PTCS stands for, the Lord moved my heart's desire to be here in Chicago.
What do you enjoy most about teaching?
I enjoy working in and with the community of believers - especially the staff/faculty's dedication to being a part of the body of Christ. I also enjoy just being a classroom teacher. Getting to know my students and their families always puts a smile on my face.
What are your favorite moments with students?
My favorite moments are the most unexpected, profound happenings when a student shows their compassion for a teacher or another student. I feel like I get to see a little glimpse of God's love in the tiniest of human beings.
